News Flash:

Blackstone Gun Safety Nevada has been offering a 2-Day Defensive Handgun class for a few years now. This class has been gaining popularity since we started. We began offering this class at the request of students after Front Sight closed, and the feedback we’ve been receiving has been fantastic.

We took the 4-day defensive handgun class that Front Sight offered, and modified it into two days, eliminating the shooter/coach, no taping targets, less lecturing and taking no more than 20 students per class. We also added some drills from the advanced classes. Typically, you’ll shoot 600-800 rounds in two days. We save a lot of time without the shooter/coach model.

There is a company in Oregon offering a similar class at a cost of $1,280.00 per person for a 3-day class, and a company in Arizona offering a similar class for $1,340.00 per person. Both of these companies only shoot about 450 rounds in 3 days. Why do I mention this? Because our price is fabulous.

Effective January 1, 2026, our 2-Day Defensive Handgun class will be $290 per person. Now the GREAT news. If you have taken our class and paid the $190, you are grandfathered in, and your cost will remain at $190.

If you have not taken our class and paid the $190, you still have the opportunity to take the class on November 15^th & 16th and get grandfathered in before the price change takes effect. The September and October classes are full

The November class is almost full so we may schedule another in December.

Purchasing a handgun and then getting your CCW does not mean you are ready to protect yourself or a loved one. Sadly, many people think that’s all they need, and they are wrong, and that’s all they do. A person needs professional training, and then you need to practice what you have been taught. There are many companies that offer this kind of training all over the country and the prices vary a lot. In the State of Nevada even all CCW instructors teach a different class. I am an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and I enjoy taking other instructor’s classes. I always pick up some idea from them. One of the many things I’ve learn in the firearms business is there is not a shortage of opinions. I teach CCW classes and many times I ask a student, when was the last time you were shooting and a lot of times the answer, I get back is, “When I got my permit.” In Nevada that was 5 years ago. Shooting is a very perishable skill; it goes away quite quickly. It’s not like riding a bike. A person who carries a gun should be at the range at least once a month shooting a box off ammo.
