SUMMARY:2-Day Defensive Handgun Class in Pahrump
DESCRIPTION:2 Day Defensive Handgun Class \nTHIS CLASS IS FULL – NEXT ONE IS JUNE 24 & 25 \nThis is an outstanding entry level to intermediate course. You can sign up through our website\, BGSnevada.com or give us a call 775-990-9393.  All students must be prepaid to attend this class and we will only take a limited number of students per class.  All students must be 18 years of age or older\, unless you get preapproval. If you have a responsible child that you would like to shoot next to you\, give us a call\, prior to registration\, for approval. \nCost: $190 for the 2 days. There are NO membership fees or background check fees. \nAll students must bring government issued photo ID\, IE: Driver’s License. \nUpon completion of this course\, you will have a fundamental understanding of the use of your handgun. Among the many skills you acquire will be the ability to safely and easily present your weapon from the holster and fire the necessary number of shots to the center of a target 5 yards away in under 2 seconds! \nDrills Include\, but not limited to: Loading and Unloading; Grip\, Stance\, Sight Picture\, Sight Alignment\, and Trigger Control; Presentation from the low and high Ready\, and the Holster; Target Engagement from Arm’s Length to 15 yards under Time Pressure; Malfunction Clearing; Emergency and Tactical Reloading. \nFirearm\, Equipment and Ammo Requirements: \n“Pocket Pistols” which we define is any handgun smaller than a Glock 26 (roughly 6.4″ slide length and 4.2″ frame height) are not allowed except for the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield EZ in 9mm or 380. We are basing our size parameters off the factory condition of your weapon\, not any add ons. Revolvers are discouraged because of capacity. \nHolsters must be on the belt\, OWB\, correctly fitted to the weapon\, completely covering the trigger guard and remain open when the weapon is removed\, not allowing the weapon to cover the shooter’s body. Cross-draw and/or shoulder holsters are not allowed. It would be a good idea to bring a backup gun\, in case yours fails. \nA minimum of three magazines (recommend 4-6) and two single or one double magazine pouch worn on the belt on the side opposite the handgun are required. Speed loader holders for revolvers can be worn on your belt in the front. This will be a tough class for a revolver. \nElectronic hearing protection is mandatory. \nA sturdy belt\, hat with brim\, wrap around impact resistant eye protection\, pants with pockets\, comfortable shoes or boots\, etc.  A dump pouch and shooting gloves are recommended. There is no need for knee pads as all shooting is done from standing. \nWe also recommend sunscreen\, electrolyte drinks (we will have water) and snacks.  We will have a short lunch break so bring a sack lunch. \nAmmunition Requirements: 9mm\, .357 SIG\, .40 S&W\, 10mm\, .45 ACP\, .38 Special\, .357 mag (.380 for EZ only). Estimated round count 500-700 rounds. Yes\, we will be shooting a bunch.
